Trek CrossRip Elite

Trek's CrossRip Elite is the one bike that truly does it all. This machine loves long rides on the road, cruising along dirt paths, commutes in the city and even down-n-dirty cross racing. Its light aluminum frame sports a carbon fork, making it lively, fast and ridiculously fun to ride. Shimano gives you an 18-speed drivetrain with a wide range for help on the steepest hills. And since you have fender and rack mounts as well, foul weather riding and gear-hauling capacity is covered. The do-it-all nature continues. The Hayes disc brakes give you all-conditions stopping, so go ahead, commute all winter long and race in the sloppiest cross courses, you've covered. The wheels are tubeless-ready and the tires are Bontrager Hard-Cases, so flats are pretty much a thing of the past, too.

    Comments:

I purchased this bike from River City Cycling in Shreveport,LA. They got it quick and put it together for me quickly as well. They fit me properly and got me all set up. I couldn't be happier with their support. The bike itself is pretty sweet for my first "Quality" bike purchase. I looked at others with the intent of light touring and bike packing, but settled for this one because the price was right and it meets all my needs. I'm in the process of losing some weight and getting back in shape and plan to add some racks and panniers later for some bike camping fun in some Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas forests. It handles really well and smoothly. I wasn't sure about aluminum, but it hasn't been too stiff when I ride all over town, do some gravel grinding, and even a bit of double track trails. I'm really happy with this bike. Gearing is just right for me... I'm not doing a lot of climbing so the gear choice just fits right. I'm riding around 100 miles a week and no problems in the first 300 miles or so. I will take her in for a 90 day check up soon and look forward to learning from the guys at River City and getting to know my bike better.

        Comments:

I bought this to be a road bike in an area where road bikes aren't really possible because the roads are a mixture of dirt, gravel, or various stages of pavement at one time. This has been by far the best experience I have ever had on a bike! It is fast, light, responsive, can go almost anywhere, and is just a blast to ride!

I commute 30 miles each day, this bike has yet to show any weakness! A smooth ride each and every time. I would reccomend it to anyone for speed as well as reliability and durability.
